Visualize your data with Copilot in Excel

Warning: This feature is being deprecated. App Skills will be removed from Excel by late-February 2026. You can use Agent Mode in Excel to highlight, sort, and filter your workbook data, Copilot Chat to ask basic questions, or explore with Analyst for deep reasoning data analysis.
With Copilot in Excel, it's easy to visualize your data by highlighting, sorting, and filtering to quickly call attention to what matters to you.
Highlight, sort, and filter your data
Note: To use the feature described here, you need a work or school account with a qualifying Microsoft 365 business subscription, and a Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on license. See How Copilot works with and without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

Open Excel.

Make sure to format your data in a table or supported range for Copilot.

From the ribbon, select CopilotÂ

Tell Copilot how you'd like to see your data. You can type in your own words or try one of the example prompts.

Copilot tells you in the chat pane how it will highlight, sort, and filter your data.

Select Apply to view the changes in your sheet.
